CAMDEN, N.J. – Joel Embiid (right knee soreness) and Paul George (left knee surgery recovery) were full participants in Sixers practice, the team said on Sunday afternoon, with no updates on the stars' availability for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Kelly Oubre Jr. will be out due to a left knee injury.
Embiid has missed six of the team's 12 games this year, with the first four of those absences being planned rest days on back-to-backs as the Sixers attempt to manage his troubled left knee through the marathon that is an 82-game season. But on Tuesday morning, Embiid reported soreness in his right knee, and has missed the team's last two games with a designation of "right knee soreness."
George, who underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee in July, has not yet played in 2025-26. The Sixers said last Friday that George was meeting with doctors in the weekend to come; Sixers head coach Nick Nurse then suggested that meeting could be the "last hurdle" before the nine-time All-Star returns to action. But on Tuesday night the team said George would be re-evaluated again later in the week and that the final piece of his recovery "involves the continued strengthening of his left quadricep, which will be managed through a strength and conditioning program and on-court basketball activities."
Adding to the Sixers' long list of knee issues: Oubre Jr., who averaged 36.7 minutes per game across the Sixers' first 11 contests, suffered a left knee hyperextension in Friday's loss to the Detroit Pistons, has an LCL injury, the team said. He underwent imagining and is meeting with specialists to determine the severity of the injury.
Kelly Oubre Jr. will not return tonight vs. Pistons with a left knee hyperextension.

Jared McCain, who played two games in the G League with the Delaware Blue Coats on Thursday and Saturday in an effort to regain his mobility and balance as he tries to fully recovery from a meniscus repair last year, was recalled by the Sixers on Sunday morning. McCain played 20.3 minutes per game across the two outings, with all of that playing time coming in the first halves of the games. He averaged 12.5 points and 4.5 assists in what Nurse implied on Thursday morning would very likely be a two-game stint.
On Sunday, Nurse said he thought "it was good for him" to get some prolonged stretches of action in and indicated he plans to use McCain as part of his rotation on Monday.
In one non-knee piece of injury news, struggling backup center Adem Bona has a right ankle sprain, the Sixers said, which will cause him to miss at least three games. Depending on Embiid's availability, it could pave the way for rookie Johni Broome to get his first rotation opportunity.
