Joel Embiid upgraded to questionable for Sixers-Warriors on Thursday; Paul George ruled out

Joel Embiid (right knee injury recovery; left knee injury recovery) has been upgraded to questionable for the Sixers’ home game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, while Paul George (left knee injury recovery) has been downgraded to out. Additionally, Quentin Grimes (right calf tightness) has been upgraded from questionable to available. Grimes missed his first game of the season on Tuesday, but that will be the extent of his absence.

Embiid had initially been listed as doubtful and George had initially been listed as questionable. It appears the Sixers’ plan is to stagger their appearances across both games of a back-to-back, with George likely to be active on Friday night in Milwaukee while Embiid sits.

For Golden State, superstar guard Stephen Curry remains out, with Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kuminga, Al Horford, Quentin Post and Trayce Jackson-Davis all questionable.
