Joel Embiid ruled out for Sixers-Knicks with illness, right knee injury management

Joel Embiid has been ruled out for the Sixers’ road contest against the New York Knicks on Friday night due to an illness and “right knee injury management.”

Embiid had been listed as questionable for the game due to his illness, but was in attendance for the team’s morning shootaround at Madison Square Garden.

Joel Embiid (illness, right injury management) has been ruled OUT for Sixers-Knicks tonight. Was previously questionable with the illness. First time his right knee has been listed on the injury report in a little while.

Five hours and 30 minutes before tip-off, however, the Sixers ruled him out and added the right knee designation. Embiid missed eight consecutive games due to a right knee issue earlier in the season, but it has not been listed as an issue in any Sixers injury report in over two weeks.
