Hepatitis B shot for newborns has nearly eliminated childhood infections with this virus in the U.S.

The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices has proposed changing its hepatitis B vaccine recommendations. Critics say the proposal lacks scientific justification and would undo a prevention strategy that has nearly eliminated early childhood hepatitis B in the U.S.
