Joel Embiid will remain out for the Sixers on Tuesday night when they face the Charlotte Hornets on the road, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, who says the former NBA MVP will once again be designated with left knee injury management and personal reasons.

Embiid missed the entire preseason and the first nine games of the regular season due to the same left knee injury management tag and a suspension, before playing in four of five games and returning to the injury report after swelling appeared in that knee.

Embiid has missed four consecutive games since then, and Tuesday's game will be the fifth. Embiid will have only played in four of the team's first 19 games in 2024-25, a sobering reality as the Sixers desperately search for avenues to keep the 30-year-old healthy with four years remaining on his massive contract after this one.

With Andre Drummond ruled out for at least three games through the end of this week, the Sixers will rely on Guerschon Yabusele and rookie Adem Bona at center, with KJ Martin logging small-ball five minutes likely in play as well.
