The Philadelphia Eagles announced five roster moves on Tuesday after their Wild Card Round win over the Green Bay Packers. Let's cover each move one-by-one.

Nakobe Dean was placed on injured reserve

Dean tore a patellar tendon, which is an extremely serious injury, as our Evan Macy laid out this morning. His season is over, and he will very likely miss time in 2025 as well.

Dean had a breakout season in 2024, making 128 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble, two recoveries, and a game-sealing INT Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"Nakobe has had a great year," Nick Sirianni said on Monday. "As you guys saw in the reports, he's going to be out, and we sure will miss him. He has made big plays all year long. One that comes to everyone's mind is going to be the interception against Jacksonville to seal the game.

"But he had a couple plays in Sunday's game that were just outstanding, that set the tone of how we were going to play. The fourth play of the game, the way he comes down – I think the fourth play of the game yesterday really shows you who Nakobe Dean is. He identifies the play lightning fast, and that's because of how much time he spends working on this game. He loves football, and how much time he spends working on this game of football and being able to diagnose plays.

"He lights up the puller with just that physical toughness play. You saw everything of who Nakobe is in that play. Bam, good football IQ. Boom, physical toughness. Yeah, we'll miss him, that's for sure. Got a lot of faith in the guys in that room, but we'll for sure miss Nakobe. He's had a really good year."

Oren Burks replaced Dean in the lineup, and will likely start in the Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Rams.

WR Parris Campbell was added to the 53-man roster

Campbell is a veteran receiver who has been on and off the roster all season. He was elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's win over the Packers, but did not get any snaps in the regular offense. He is the WR5, behind A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, and Johnny Wilson, but the team likely trusts him more than rookie Ainias Smith, should the Eagles need to dip deep into their reserves at wide receiver.

LB Nicholas Morrow was signed to the practice squad

Morrow was a starting linebacker for the Eagles in 2023, and not a good one. His addition does make sense with Dean going on IR, but the Eagles would need further injury carnage at linebacker for Morrow to see the field in the regular defense.

WR Elijah Cooks was signed to the practice squad

Cooks has appeared in 11 NFL games, all with the Jaguars. He has three career catches for 38 yards. He's a big receiver, at 6'4, 215.

WR Joseph Ngata was released from the practice squad

Cooks is in, Ngata is out.
